Victory for the Banbury Men’s indoor side on the opening week against Chipping Norton! After being put into bat, Richard Simpson and Ben Cross got the team off to a great start, with plenty of running and the odd strong shot to the back wall; both retiring on 26 and 25 respectively. Skipper Jack Lambden, Josh Taylor & Andrew Prior all continued the scoring, finishing 25, 26 & 29 retired for their innings. After taking 30 off the final over, the side finished 156-0 off their 10 overs.
In the field, the bowlers kept the pressure on throughout and the fielders supported superbly, bowling Chipping Norton out for 47 in the 7th over! Liam Manley pick of the bowlers with a dominant 4-18 off his 4 overs, followed by Ben Cross with 1-12 off his 2 overs and 1 run out from Richard Simpson.
A strong start to the season, with a 111 run victory, securing maximum points; with extras being the main area for improvement next week.
