Lets be honest its going to be difficult,25 points behind Cropredy and 19 behind Bledlow village with only two game left, but the good news is we still have the said teams to play and who knows. We are still in contention following a 74 run mullering of Shipton 2nds yesterday, losing the toss and batting we were soon in all sorts of trouble as veteran seamer Chris Panter worked his magic as we collapsed to 72 for 7.But what has been a familiar patern this season the late middle order and tail have managed to get us to a competitive score and yesterday was no different. The superb Siam Hussain once again leading from the front with a controlled 30,Ross Freeman 20.Mike Thomas 10,Marc Rorich 20 and Neil Megson 15 all proving their worth as we finished on 137 in the reduced overs of 43,Panter finished with 6-44.In reply Shipton started well and after 9 overs were 25-0.But then it all kicked off as the legendary opening bowlers Ollie Murrey and Ross Freeman turned in their spells of the season as Shipton lost all 10 wickets for 35 in 11 magical overs. The old adage of pitch it up and bowl straight has never been more apt as Murrey finished with 6-23 from 11 and Freeman 4-29 off 10,all of the wickets bowled or lbw in a sensational effort by these monsters of Banbury sport. With third place in the league already secured two wins from two could just seal an unlikely promotion.
