2024 News

Following on from our recent AGM, there's plenty of news to keep you updated on, going into the 2024 season! (our 75th Anniversary Year)

Election of New Officers:

  • Hon. Treasurer: After kindly stepping in to support us on his return to the club, John Woodworth's second stint as our Treasurer comes to an end. We are very pleased to confirm Paul Robinson will be succeeding John in this post.
  • Women & Girls Manager: After a number of years of supporting the section, Mark Austin stands down as our W&G Manager. We are delighted that Karen Cross will now assume this role, as we continue to expand our playing opportunities!
  • General Committee: We welcome Mike Bristow to the committee for 2024.

Although not formally elected at the AGM, we are also thrilled to welcome two new faces, filling key roles as part of our longer term strategy. Martin Charters joins us as Head Groundsman, whilst Jack Brooks assumes the role of Head Coach.

We would like to place our enormous thanks on record to all outgoing officers for their time, dedication and commitment to the club and we look forward to working with new officers as the club continues to move forward! A number of our outgoing officers will still be involved in other roles, whether it be umpiring, coaching or simply spectating, so we look forward to seeing them around the grounds.

A full list of confirmed officers of the club can be found here.

After a considerable period of time at the helm, we see some changes across our captains & vice captains, still alongside some familiar faces, for 2024. We are pleased to announce Kieran Coyne as our new 1st XI captain, Zoe Pugh as our new Women's 1st XI captain, whilst Ben Cross takes on our Indoor side. Work is ongoing as we finalise our 3rd XI captain.

Subscriptions:

The subscriptions and membership fees were proposed at the AGM and are as follows:

  • Full Playing Membership: £175*
  • U18, Students and Unemployed: £80
  • Women's & Girls: £50 (Hardball) & £25 (Softball)
  • Youth (U11s upwards): £80£70 (U9s), £50 (All-Stars) - plus sibling discount
  • VP: £50  Associate: £40

*Senior subscriptions have remained unchanged since 2020. With the recruitment of a new Head Coach to the Club for 2024 as well as a new Groundsman to enhance the quality of the cricket square, the Club will need to increase our revenue in a number of areas, including from membership. Therefore, the Committee has decided to increase the annual subscription from £120 to £175. However, this significant increase can be reduced in 2 ways:

1. Pay in full before 31 March 2024 and the fee is reduced immediately to £145.
2. If you are already in, or if you join the Club’s fund raising 100 Club, it is further reduced to £135.

The full fee of £175 brings us into line with other clubs at our level, however the committee is pleased to offer members the opportunity to gain a significant discount to this rate by paying promptly and supporting the club via 100 club membership.

For details on the 100 Club, contact Eddie Phillips.

Match fees are set at £10 for adults and £5 for U18, Students & Unemployed, which is merely a return to pre-COVID levels.

We will once again be offering the popular Player Sponsorship package, set at £275 (exc.VAT) for any players / companies interested - this should be in place in advance, much like annual subscriptions!
