Vet’s End the Season on a High!

Match report by Neil Megson

The BEST of eveything from the Vets last night as we put Shipston to the sword in our final indoor game of the season, our status in the top division assured for next season….

Toss won and we bat, off to a flyer, Steve Beck 27 and Andy Cross 27 both retired.. Runs kept coming, a superb 28no by Ris, this incredibly included 2 straight 6s…Crossy returned and scored the seasons Best score of 44no..we ended on a seasons Best of 144..

In reply we absolutely blew Shipston away for 49 in 6 overs.. The seasons best spell by Ollie Murrey 3 overs 4 for 13 just brilliant.. Also a stumping,a run out and two catches by Becky.. but the highlight two brilliant catches by Riz who could do no wrong on the night..a great season for us as we were competitive in all but one game…

A fine effort with the bat in last weeks game against Hooky, we didn’t bowl very well as Hooky totaled 147-2…in reply we were 80 at the half way and bang in the game but a couple of run outs ended the chase, we finished in 121-5..James Mitchelmore 25,Andy Cross 27 in 6 balls and Ollie Murrey 32 no stared with the bat.
