The thirds put in a solid display at Chearsley on Saturday picking up 17 well earned points in a winning draw.On a hot day we won the toss and choose to bat and after 10 overs we were in a bit of trouble at 26 for 2.Enter Ally Jarvis and Justin lambden who produced a magnificent partnership of 173,mixing good shot selection and superb running both batters put the Chearsley bowlers to the sword ,Jarvis was was first out for 106 and Lambden for 91 in a monumental partnership,with Charlie Hill and Mark Rorich adding a further 40 we finished on a competitive 250.In reply the Chearsley openers started well and put on 60 for the first wicket ,it was the evergreen Micky Thomas who broke through and went on to 4-35 from his 15 overs of controlled swing bowling.Keith Arnold and Charlie Hill chipped in with a wicket each as Chearsley put the shutters up and blocked out for a draw,they finished 163-6.With Josh Hill after injury and Andy Stevens getting overs under their belts it should stand them in good stead as the season gos on.
