The thirds lost a close game against Champions Cropredy today .Losing the toss and batting Charlie Hill got out early but John Wright and Justin Lambden put on 78 for the second wicket,Lambden out for 32 and Wright for 40.Sadly we were then 84-4 but Mike Thomas 14,Ross Freeman 23 and Mark Rorich managed to get us to a competitive 170 from our 53 overs,James Wimbush and Sam Manning putting on 15 for the last wicket.In reply Cropredy raced to 78 in 17 overs and were cruising to victory,but Charlie Hill and Mike Thomas worked there way through the top order and at 137 for 6 the game was any ones,2 wickets for Hill and 3 for Thomas but the f 25 wides we bowled proving the deciding factor as Cropredy got home by 4 wickets with 5 overs to spare as we made the division Champions work really hard for it.Good luck to Cropredy next season in div two i am sure they will do very well.
