Skipper Tate Leads U11’s Home

A brilliant innings of 39n/o by skipper George Tate saw Banbury to a 4 wicket victory against Hook Norton last night.On a boiling hot evening Hooky batted first  and were indebted to Archie Rippon 41 as thy finished 85-3 from their 20 overs.All the Banbury bowlers bowled well .wickets for George Tate,Jamie Higgs and Harry Horricks on his debut,George lines was outstanding behind the stump as were everyone a solid all round fielding display.In reply we lost an early wicket but George Tate and another debutant Ben Cox put on 56 for the second wicket before Cox was run out for a superb 22,but it was Tate who played a true captains innings of 39n/o,mixing good running between the wickets and some superb strokes he saw us to victory with a superb cover drive for 4 with just 4 balls left in a superb game.

On Sunday the South Northants team also got off to a flying start with a 21 victory against Deddington.Batting first we scored 246, Callum Biggs top scoring as all the batsmen did well.In reply Deddington finished on 226 as all the Banbury bowlers performed well.Joe Robbins with 2 wickets and Henry Durant with 3 were the pick of the bowlers,both boys were making their debuts.All in all a great start to the season for the U11’s.
