Banbury turned up at Abingdon with a slightly understrength side, to face a team that bowled them out for less than 50 in the previous meeting.
Having lost an important toss, Banbury were inserted. After a bright start by Sabin, Charlesworth removed the dangerous Cheshire for 0, his first failure of the season. Sabin (14) was next to go, what he felt was a harsh LBW for 14.
Beck(11) and Gregory(26) steadied the innings, but a second dubious LBW decision left Banbury reeling at 55-3. Very little resistance was put up by the remainer of the side, and banbury collapsed to 77 all out.
Abingdon made heavy weather chasing such a low score, and at 54-4 could have been dragged into a defeat, but some solid hitting from Chilvers saw them home 4 down.
Banbury must look to bounce back against local rivals Banbury XX on Saturday.
