The 3rds suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Horspath 2nds on Saturday.Batting first the in form Adam Wirth 47 got us off to a solid start and with Justin Lambden and Charlie Hill putting on 35 for the 4th wicket we were well placed at 120 for 3 .Hill was then run out going for a third and when 5 wickets fell in as many overs for 10 runs the innings fell apart around us.Andy Procter,Neil Megson and Andy Stevens then saw us to 189 and respectability.This was never going to be enough on another Horton View shirt front as the Horspath openers Matt Todd 82 and Matt O’Connor 94n/o dispatched our bowlers to all parts,Todd was finally out to a superb catch from Chris Phillips with a run needed to win.The only consolation being we managed to score more than the 2nds did in a pre season game against the same opposition,bring on the 29’s next week!!
