The Men’s Indoor side continued their trend of winning every other week, defeating Hook Norton by 3 wickets in week 5 of the season!
After losing the toss and being asked to bowl, the side got off to a steady start, keeping Hooky to around 10 an over without taking a wicket. The first wicket then fell to Dave Eaton in the 6th over, leaving Hooky 70-1. A late flurry of wickets, including another for Dave Eaton (2-45) and 3 run outs meant Hooky ended their innings 112-5; a great effort all round to drag the score back.
In reply, Richard Simpson got the side off to a strong start taking us to 54-0 off 4, before retiring. Ben Cross (13) and Dave Eaton (25*) continued the scoring taking us to 66 before Ben was then run out. Despite Jack Lambden and Andy Prior, 4 a piece, falling late on, Liam Manley (19*) and the returning Richard Simpson (30*) guided us home comfortably with an over and a half to spare!
The penultimate week of the season sees Banbury take on Sandford at 18:45, with the Vets last on against Hook Norton at 21:15!
