Banbury won the Great Tew six a side yesterday for only the second time in a rain hit event. We managed to beat Tew in a bowl out as just for a change this summer the rain lashed in at 4pm and that was that.Tew and Banbury were the only two teams to have won their two matches thus went into the final which turned out to be a bowl out at about 6pm.Many thanks to all the players and the ground staff at Tew for hanging around to complete the rain shortened event. In the bowl out Josh Megson and Justin Lambden hit the stumps as we won 2-1.Lloyd Sabin,Jamie Coles ,Will Briggs and Charlie Hill completed the team.In our first game Chipping Norton made 45 in 5 overs,Will Briggs 25 and Jamie Coles 21 sped us to victory in 2.2 overs. The second game proved a lot tougher as Ox & Bletch made 55 with Charlie Hills last over going for 21,the highlight of the innings being an astonishing one handed catch by Lloyd Sabin on the long on boundry right in front of the pavilion .In reply we got home off the last ball with Josh Megson 26n/o .But a good day despite this dreadful weather and the clubs third trophy in a week .
