Banbury will play the winner of Oxford and Oxford Dows’ after beating Shipton-Under-Wychwood by 8 wickets.
Shipton were bowled out for 61 at White Post Road on Sunday, Luke Ryan and Ash Blanchard the pick of the bowlers. The runs were knocked off without due alarm, Lloyd Sabin making 27.
The Oxon Cup is now Banbury (1st XI) only chance of silverware this year. On Saturday Banbury’s draw with Henley has left them needing something approaching a miracle if they are to catch High Wycombe at the top of the HCPL. Banbury made 249, Nathan Hawkes’ 84 the highlight, but despite good pressure created by Luke Ryan they could only capture 8 of Henley’s wickets and finished the game with 14 points. High Wycombe beat the only other side who can mathematically catch them, Tring Park, and have all but sealed the title.
