Committee Member and former Treasurer Peter Pollard sadly passed away
last week, his funeral will be at Bodicote Church this Wednesday (25th)
at 2pm.
Peter was born in Northampton, before moving to Banbury early in his
working life to work for Banbury buildings. He and his wife Audrey became
popular figures on the Banbury social scene and had two children Nigel and
Adam. During this time Peter ran his own green grocers, worked for Ellicott’s
before eventually moving to Swan Foundry in 1987. He would work diligently for
Swan for the rest of his career and it was his friendship with the Phillips
family that saw him join Banbury Cricket Club.
A keen player of Rugby and Squash as a younger man Peter took to club
life immediately and served the club in various roles including treasurer. He
was still a member of the committee at the time of his passing. He was also a
member of the Glebe Charitable Trust based in Bodicote.
Peter joins his wife Audrey, who passed a few years ago. He will be
missed not only by his family and four grandchildren, but all at Banbury CC.
