Youth Cricket Update from Cat Miller
Last week saw some more youth fixtures played but also some more postponed and rain interrupted games.
Monday’s U15 game against Tew was postponed due to more, yep, rain…
Thursday saw our Adders team contend with Charlbury in the first round of the Ron Maudsley Cup. Despite the best efforts of the Chairman and his grounds team to get the game on, the game was interrupted after 15 overs by more (shock) rain. After the covers were put back on, takeaway pizzas from the excellent Jojos Dough on the Go up at the Club were the order of the day for an earlier than anticipated tea. Take two of this game will take place this Tuesday at WPR.
Our Under 11s league side were rained off on Sunday but happily our Banbury U11s Super8s team travelled to Horley and secured a win. Banbury scoring 298 vs Horley’s 198. Holly R. player of the match with 3 wickets.
Our softball team played Bicester with a good win for Banbury and an all round contribution across the team. 241 for Bicester and 299 for Banbury. Man of the Match for an excellent performance to Ben C.
A big thanks to all who helped get the games on this week - groundsmen, coaches, managers and and scorers. Here’s hoping this week sees some better and sunnier weather with more youth games to be played.
