Youth Cricket update from Cat Miller
Despite the awful weather, we have at least managed to dodge some of the showers and get some youth games in this week.
Our U15s started their league fixtures on Monday and played at WPR with a narrow 2 wicket victory over Chippy.
Thursday saw our two U13 Adders and Cobras sides play Chippy and Sandford. Some great performances by both teams, the Adders bowling out Chippy for 37 and a spirited effort from our Cobras saw them contend with an excellent Sandford side. Sandford finished on 126 and Banbury on 90. Some great performances from both teams with wickets shared around.
Both of our Under 11s hardball sides were sadly rained off on Sunday but our softballers travelled to Great Tew. A great team performance. Great Tew finished on 253 and Banbury on 194. 7 out of our 8 players had never played a match before this game and showed some great skills and promise. Well done to all who played.
Great to see some of our youth players back out on the field again. Plenty to work on in training in the weeks ahead but well done to all and thank you as ever to all the coaches who give up their time to make these games happen. A special thanks also to our grounds team who ensured we got the games on.
Here is hoping this week is a better week on the weather front!
