Introduction
Banbury Cricket Club is dedicated to the development of youth cricket. In recent years, the youth section has expanded significantly and experienced great success in both local competitions and in supplying Oxfordshire's County Age Group teams with a growing number of cricketers. A number of our current senior players are products of our youth training here at Banbury.

The Youth Section is very generously sponsored by local accountants, Whitley Stimpson. We currently run youth sides from Under 11s through to Under 19s and internal gameplay opportunities for our Under 9s. For the fourth consecutive year, we are offering another 8 week All Stars programme for our youngest members aged 5-8 years old, where we hope to welcome some new All Stars to the club to start their cricketing journey with us. There are now over 170 youth cricketers who regularly receive training from qualified coaches within the club. The junior teams are in the Oxfordshire Cricket Board League, Oxfordshire County Cup, Ron Maudsley Knockout Cup and Plate competitions. Some of our older boys and girls are also encouraged to play adult league cricket on Saturdays and on Sundays.

Above all, the basis of our youth training and coaching is encouragement and fun in a welcoming and competitive environment. We want parents and children to feel part of the club and enjoy their cricket. We are always looking for parents and family members to volunteer help with the administration side of running a team, umpiring, scoring (we can provide training!) or even writing short match reports for the website - there are plenty of ways to get involved so please do let us know if you can help.

We are a Clubmark club and adhere to the Safe Hands policy for Safeguarding Children in Cricket. Clubmark is a national charter standard for all sporting clubs to illustrate that they are an effective, well managed and child friendly club. As a club, we are committed to providing a high standard of junior coaching to boys and girls across all age groups. We ensure that all our volunteers involved in youth cricket are DBS checked so that parents can be confident all the youth players are coached and play cricket in a safe and happy environment.

We are delighted to confirm that we have retained our ECB Clubmark accreditation status for 2025.

Due to an increase in youth registrations over the last few years and to provide excellent coaching whilst ensuring that child safety is paramount, some age groups will be restricted in numbers - so please check with the club beforehand to ensure that places are available.
