After winning the toss & electing to bat, Banbury lost an early wicket through a run out which dismissed young Freddie Crook. Captain Kieran Churchill & Charlie Haselgrove batted positively with Captain Churchill having to retire on 51*, which included 8 boundaries & a huge 6! Haselgrove was to retire shortly after that on 52* hitting 7 boundaries! Next man in was hard hitting Tristan Marriott. He also was forced to retire after a blistering 53* which included 7 boundaries! The innings was closed off by Ben Dyble 12* & Max Blinkhorn 2*. Banbury posted a record total of 209 for 1 from 20 overs. It’s fair to say, the Bicester attack took some serious tap on the night!!
After the break, the Banbury attack soon went to work, ripping through the Bicester top order. Openers Ben Dyble & Charlie Haselgrove bowled superbly with the new ball. Ben Dyble 0-7-2, (Who also had a Brilliant direct hit run out). Charlie Haselgrove once again with impressive figures of 2-5-2. They were ably supported by Josh Hunter 1-8-3, Max Blinkhorn 0-9-2, Tristan Marriott 1-7-2, Olly Cook 0-3-2. However, the 2 stand out performances with the ball came from Jonny White 1-0-2 & again the Superb Callum Andrews 3-7-2. All the bowlers bowled with great control & gave Bicester absolutely nothing. Bicester were eventually bowled out for a spirited 57. A clinical performance by a young U15’s Banbury side!
