The under 13’s go into their final game against Charlbury knowing a victory will see them into the Oxford League finals day on sunday july 27th.This after two dramatic victories this week against Great Tew and Freeland.On monday Banbury scored 93 , in reply Tew finished on 91 with Miles Senior and Jack Scott the pick of the bowlers as Banbury held their nerve in dramatic fasion.This game however wasn’t a patch on last nights victory against Freeland as Banbury won by 1 run. Banbury could only manage 69 all out in a dreadful batting display as all of the Freeland bowlers bowled magnificently.In reply the Freeland openers put on 44 for the first wicket and with 5 overs left 12 were needed with 9 wickets in hand surely there was only one winner.Two overs each by skipper Olie Stevenson and Connor Williams yeilded only 4 runs and with extras it left 5 to win from the final over .Step forward Dan Nash who bowled the over of his life as Banbury’s nerve held as Freelands failed them.One could only feel for Freeland as they dominated the match for 37 of the overs only for Banbury to snatch victory from the largest of fires.
