At last we got to play the final but sadly we did’nt get the result we were after as we lost to Kennington by 5 wickets with 7 balls remaining in a close fought final at Bicester last night.Batting first we got off to a dreadful start with Jamie Coles being run out off the first ball of the match with out facing.Lloyd Sabin and Charlie Hill set about repairing the damage and Sabin soon retired on 33 and when Hill went for 18 we found the going tough.Mark Pallett and Ollie Stevenson took 18 off the last 2 overs to get us to an under par score of 89.An early wicket for Jamie Cleaver and one for Josh Megson helped things, but when Justin Lambdens leg spin came into the attack we realy got back into the game Coles picked up a wicket with his left arm spin and Lambden got 2 at the other end as we fielded like demons in a magnificent display of out cricket but it was’nt enough as Kennington kept there heads to get home with 7 balls to spare. In the end i guess the 16 wides that we bowled against 3 from Kennington proved to be the difference.
