FROM BANBURY GUARDIAN:
Unbeaten centuries from openers Tim Paine and Hugo Darby earned Banbury a comfortable ten wicket victory over Burnham in Saturday’s Home Counties Premier Cricket League fixture.
Banbury bounced back from last week’s setback at division one champions Henley who drew with Harefield while second-placed High Wycombe drew with Slough. Those results saw Banbury move back up to second just three points behind Henley to put themselves firmly back in the title race.
Burnham scored steadily at White Post Road to reach 262-9 with Karan Kumar 73 and Rizwan Nadeem 41no top scoring. It was a decent total but not enough to thwart Luke Ryan’s side.
But in reply, Paine and Burnham saw Banbury home in the 51st over. Paine hit an unbeaten 152 runs including 18 fours and a six off 154 balls while Darby bounced back to form with an unbeaten 106 runs which included nine fours and a six off 152 balls.
