The thirds enjoyed a fine win against Aston Rowant seconds on saturday winning by 3 wickets in another close game.Rowant won the toss and it was a major surprise to us that they chose to bat, great bowling from Sean Cranley whose 12 overs yeilded figures of 4 for 14, opener Plumbridge batted surperbly for a top 50 on a difficult pitch. It was left to Ian Adams to blow away the tail with his first 5 wicket haul of the season as we bowled Rowant out for 160 in the 46th over. However we were soon in trouble and at 34 for 4 things did’nt look good but a good knock by skipper Jamie Briggs 30 and his best innings for the club by Jonti Cooke 60 put us back into the game.It was left to the young and the very old as Meggers and Nick Best kept there heads to see us home in the 49th over.
