I have lost count on how many close finishes we have been involved in this season and saturday was no different.Winning the toss Leighton 2nds asked us to bat on a dreadful pitch Cutty and Jarv putting on 40 for the second wicket got us to 50 for 1, but wickets fell at regular intervals as were bowled out for154 in 48 overs, a good score we felt.The Leighton opening bowlers Dar and Mistry bowled superbly to finish with 4-48 and 3 47 from their 18 overs.Ally Jarvis held the innings together with a brilliant 78, with the next top score Jonties 13.Leighton found the going hard in their reply, Chris Thopmson with 31 playing the key innings,another great spell from the evergreen Sean Cranley backed by Woody,Gregors,Swamp,Proc and Tim Harrington nearly got us home. But Leighton last pair saw them home with 3 balls to spare as we collected 15 hard earned points.
