The thirds recorded a comprehensive 8 wicket victory against the XX Club 2nds at the View on Saturday.Winning the toss and batting XX got off to a good start and at 51 for 1 from 12 overs they were well placed .The introduction of left arm spinner Andy Stevens proved the turning point as he ripped through the middle order to finish with 5 – 15 from 11 miserly overs.Two wickets for Chris Phillips ,1 for Clarke Berry and 2 for Andy Proctor including top scorer Barry Grant for a well made 38.XX were bowled out for 103 in the 32nd over.After a heavy downpour and an early tea we set about the XX Club attack with inform batters Adam Wirth 38n/o and Justin Lambden 44 leading the way.We cruised home in the 19th over to win by 8 wickets with 48 overs to spare.
