An Inspired over from Ed Smith turned Banbury’s away clash with Radlett on its head. Smith removed Middlesex contracted Kabir Toor, South African Pro Shane Burger and ‘keeper Tom Jenkins in one over to reduce Radlett from 38 for 1 to 38 for 4. Smith went on to take 5 for 36, and Ant Bullick, Luke Ryan and Millie Faruq were all in the wickets as Radlett were dismissed for 92.
Banbury made hard work of what should have been a routine reply, even if the wicket was helpful for the bowlers. Nonetheless Ant Bullick’s measured 36 not out saw Banbury over the line and into 2nd place i the table after 2 games.
Newly promoted Potters Barr visit Whitepost Road next week, the Hertfordshire side look determined to better their 2007 effort in Division 1, when they were relegated and have secured the services of Essex all rounder Tim Phillips and Aussie seamer Chris Lagana.
