Sensational Three’s Win Again

The thirds season seems to be going from strength to strength with a 77 run win  against Chearsley on Saturday.A strange quirk of the season so far is we have batted first in every game,so to win 4 games bowling second is a great achievement. This game however started badly and after 7 overs we were 12-4,Jack Briggs,Luke Sharples,Charlie Hill and Justin Lambden all gone.Seniors Mike Thomas and James Mitchelmore both then dug in and put together a crucial partnership of 87 until Mitchelmore was finally out for 27.Mark Rorich then joined Thomas and put on 38 in good time,Thomas was finally out for a superb 69,Ross Freeman came and went so it was left to Rorich who turned back the clock with mature skillful innings of  42 n/o and with Neil Megson chipping  in with  22n/o including 2 big sixes helped get us to a very competitive 187.An early wicket for Charlie Hill was the only reward in the first 10 overs as Chearsley were well placed at 46-1. Ross Freeman on his return from injury got a breakthrough but the introduction of Steve Hart was the turning point as he bowled 14 magnificent  overs of quality left arm spin to finish with 6-23,with some superb groundfielding and good catching, the fielders really did back up the bowlers superbly.A last wicket stand of 33 stretching 12 overs proving difficult to break but Freeman on his return bowling  no 11 Baker to seal a well earned victory.Only former Bucks skipper Paul Atkins 42n/o putting up any real resistance.
