Return of Cricket: Important Update

Dear All,

As you will all be aware now, recreational cricket has finally been given the green light to return and we started with 3 senior friendly fixtures on Saturday 11th July, with great success! We want to write to you, with the latest club updates on annual subscriptions, match fees and all things cricket!

Annual Subscriptions & Match Fees
With fixtures now returning, we ask that all members playing or available for senior fixtures, pay their annual subscriptions. The decision has been taken, in light of a reduced season, to place full playing subscriptions at £60 for the remainder of the season – anyone who has not yet paid a subscription should pay this ASAP.

The bank details for online payments is below:

Banbury CC

00878616

Please put your name as your payment reference.

Again, in light of a reduced playing format and being unable to provide teas for matches, match fees will be £5 for all players for the remainder of the season, to cover ground maintenance, umpires, scorers and all other match day expenses.

Fixtures
The decision has been taken by the cricket committee that for the rest of 2020, we will unfortunately not field a 4th XI, leaving us with a 1st XI in the Home Counties Premier League and 2nd & 3rd XIs in the Cherwell League. Further opportunities will still be available in our Sunday XI, captained by Alex Badger!

Training
Training sessions for senior players or those who are playing senior fixtures will now return to the normal pattern, with Tuesday’s held at Ermont Way and Thursday’s held at White Post Road. These sessions will be a maximum of 30 attendees, in line with current ECB guidance and all social distancing measures must be adhered to; adjacent nets can now be used. You must still book in with Jack Lambden beforehand, to ensure we comply with NHS Track and Trace guidance.

For Tuesday 21st July only, we will hold a youth only practice session at White Post Road, in the current format that training has been taking currently, without any specific coaching guidance yet. This again is capped at a total 30 (in groups of 15 max) and you should book in beforehand. Further youth specific guidance and updates will come from Richard Badger following this session, once we have an idea of the support we have from the youth setup.

The latest ECB playing guidance should be read here

We urge all players, parents and club members to show their support for the rest of the 2020 season, as we continue to face some inevitable challenges in the light of the ongoing pandemic and we’d like to thank all our volunteers for their immense time and effort in providing a return to cricket at Banbury CC!

See you all on a cricket field soon!
