Relegation threatened North Mymms came out victorious by 3 wickets off the last ball of the match to clinch a valuable win over Banbury at Whitepost Road in the Home Counties Premier League.
Banbury, having lost the toss, scored 242 for 9 off their 66 overs with Luke Ryan (68) and Nathan Hawkes (51) being the main contributors to the total. Danny Duggan bowled unchanged for North Mymms and grabbed 5 for 116 for his efforts.
In reply North Mymms batted positively throughout their innings with Neil Bamford (87) being in particularly good form. But it was left to Clements (64 not out) to see the Hertfordshire team home by 3 wickets off the last ball of the match.
To add to Banbury’s bad day, they were also docked one point for a slow over-rate. Banbury ended the match with 8 points with North Mymms taking 25 valuable points in their attempts to stay in the top flight.
Banbury must again re-group for next week for their clash with league leaders, High Wycombe.
