The Men’s indoor side returned to winning ways last night with a 3 wicket victory vs Shipston!
We lost the toss and were asked to field first. Good work in the field and tight bowling from Liam Manley and the returning Mark Austin reduced the opposition to 15-2 off 3 overs. We continued to apply pressure throughout, with Ben Cross into the attack taking the 3rd wicket to reduce them to 44-3 off 7, shortly followed by a second for Liam, as Shipston finished their innings on 76-4.
In reply, we made a steady start with Richard Simpson and Josh Taylor at the top of the order, however early wickets fell to leave us 38-3 at the halfway stage. A composed and mature innings from Ben Cross (25 retired) calmed the nerves, alongside Liam Manley (12*) and some late order flair from Mark Austin (5*) to guide us home with 1.2 overs to spare!
Next week sees the Vets take on Ruscote at 19:35, followed by Banbury against Cropredy at 20:25!
