It was Annas day, well the team did contribute at bit, as ladies remain unbeaten

Banbury ladies remain unbeaten this season (6 out of 6) after
a convincing 8 wicket win against Wellingborough on Sunday.  The visitors inserted themselves first on
what was a perfect outfield, but were contained for 93 runs all out after only
28 overs. Pick of the bowlers was Chloe
Hill with 4 wickets for 14 runs, ably supported by sisters Harriet and
Charlotte Boland, and Emily Ong each with 2 a-piece. Captain Anna Tait assisted with 2 brilliantly
held catches at slip. Lauren Caiger also had a superb diving catch off Harriets bowling to secure the first wicket. Wellingborough’s
captain Kelly Hewitt top scoring with 36 no.

Tait took bat in hand for the first time this season, and
with a large supporting crowd, very quickly picked off the runs. Ong, at no 2, very steadily got to 20 before
being caught off-guard by a very slow incoming yorker, the same fate came to
Pia Davies after scoring 4 off her first ball. So it was to Jenny Csecs and Tait to guide the ladies home in 17.4
overs, with Tait scoring 30 no.

The ladies now top the WML Division 2 Northants League by 41
points and also top the Oxfordshire Mid-week League after winning both their
matches against Charlbury and Freeland.
