Higgs and Hayes see U11’s Home

The U11’s made it two wins from three as we beat Charlbury by 3 wickets at the View last night. The match was moved to Horton view as WPR was under water, again.Batting first Charlbury found the going tough as all of the Banbury bowlers performed well and lost wickets at regular intervals as they finished on 52 -8.George Tate was the pick of the bowlers as his 4 overs brought him 3 for 5 of controlled off spin.Tate also skippered the team superbly and with George Lines magnificent behind the stumps Banbury were excellent in the field ,Lines was involved in a superb stumping and 4 run outs as Banbury turned the screw .In reply Harri Barndon 13 got us off to a good start  but a clatter of wickets saw us in trouble at 30-6,Nathan Wiesheu with two thumping boundaries got us a bit closer but when he was out 15 were still needed,it was left to county u11 captain Charlotte Hayes and Jamie Higgs 8n/o to see us home with 3 overs to spare,Higgs smashing a boundary to seal victory.
