The 2015 end of season dinner was a great success, with the new lower price proving popular with the players. The quality of the food was stil excellent so big thanks to Nikki and Jo as ever.
I was a very enjoyable night, after a successful season for the club. The annual award winners were:
5th XI player of the year: George Tait
4th XI player of the year: Mark Pallett
3rd XI player of the year: Ollie Murray
2nd XI player of the year: Charlie Hill
Women’s section, most improved player: Chloe Windmill
Men’s section most improved player: Ollie Wright
Women’s player of the year: Sophie Mitchelmore
Men’s player of the year: Tim Paine.
Clubman of the year: James Risbridger
Finally a presentation was made to Andrew Sabin, who was awarded honorary life membership. This is a very rare award from Banbury Cricket Club, there are only four living honorary life members. Andrew was awarded to recognise his immense contribution to the club, in roles such as 1st XI captain right through to U13s coach. It also refelcts his passion for Banbury Cricket Club, which showed in his emotional acceptance speech. Well done Andrew on a very richly deserved award.
