Consumption of Alcohol at Banbury Cricket Club

Dear Members,

It has come to our attention that over recent weeks, a small handful of club members and opposing teams have been bringing their own alcohol onto premises at White Post Road and then consuming this on site, despite the bar being open. We would ask you only to consume alcohol on the ground that is purchased from our bar.

We would like to remind everyone that The Willows Banbury is a loss-making business run by members of the club. It has subsidised cricket at the club to the tune of £40,000 since it started.

Our challenges have understandably been made even tougher throughout the current Pandemic, with many months of no business at all and an unclear outlook as we head towards Autumn and Winter.

We would like to reiterate that the bar is open at White Post Road and we would strongly encourage that anyone wishing to consume alcohol on the premises does so by supporting Banbury Cricket Club through The Willows Banbury. The large majority of people involved with cricket are volunteers and do their roles with the best interests of the club at heart, therefore we would ask that you do your best to support your club in return.

We once again thank you for your support and understanding and look forward to the final month of a very difficult 2020 season!
