Cheshire shines in slough thriller

Sam Cheshire scored a thrilling 125 on his debut for Banbury, in a tied game at Slough.

Batting first, Banbury rattled up 261 in there 45 overs. Cheshire top scoring with 125, which included 6 sixes and 15 fours. He was well supported by Ed Smith (68no) and Andrew Sabin (21).

 In reply, Slough got off to a bad start losing 3 wickets in the first 5 overs. The two opening bowlers, Josh Megson and Ed Smith both bowled with good pace and agression, but were struggeling with no balls (19).

Slough got back into the game with a good 4 wicket partnerhip of 74 before Ernie had A Bhatti cought by Andrew Sabin for 40.

Slough were then put in the driving seat with a 5th wicjket partnership of 95, thanks to a good innings from O Jmshed (102). Wickets did fall regularly, but with Jmshed still at the crease Slough were favorites. He was then bowled by Josh Megson when only 4 runs were needed to win. Later in the over, after a couple more no balls, Megson had H Bhatti caught at slip for 0.

Needing two to win, slough pinched a single off the 2nd ball of the last over to tie the scores. Then after a good piece of fielding by Jamie Coles, a mix up occured, and the last man was run out to result in a TIE!
