Banbury are safely through to the Quarter-Finals of the Bernard Tollett Oxfordshire Cup after a 78 run win over Cropredy on Thursday night.
Batting first on an extremely damp Cropredy pitch the reigning champions posted 116, a good score on a difficult surface. Benji Hector, Will Cooper and Steve Beck the main contributors with the willow.
Once again Ollie Murray showed the virtues of bowling straight when the ball is keeping low as he picked up 3 early wickets, 2 bowled and 1 LBW. Jimmy Phillips also claimed 3 scalps, Paul Taylor managing 2 while Steve Beck made 2 direct hit run outs from mid-off.
Cropredy limped to 38 all-out to see Banbury through to the Quarter-Finals to face Kiddlington away this Tuesday.
