THE rain came to Banbury’s rescue as their batting once again let them down.
Henley posted a 214-8 total in Saturday’s Home Counties Premier League clash at White Post Road with Bjorn Mordt hitting 82 runs.
Banbury were never in the hunt in reply, losing early wickets at regular intervals. They finally reached a meagre 43-7 off 28 overs before the weather curtailed proceedings.
But Banbury’s slim hopes of making a late bid for the division one title all but disappeared as leaders Tring Park won again to give them a 61-point advantage over Benji Hector’s side.
