Banbury Cricket Club EGM and AGM, Thursday 19th January 2006

Dear Club Members,

Banbury Cricket Club EGM and AGM, Thursday 19th January 2006

I would like to take this opportunity of wishing you a Happy New Year for 2006 and remind you that the date for the club’s Annual General Meeting is Thursday, 19th January in the Pavilion at White Post Road, Bodicote.

In a change from the usual arrangements, there will also be an Extraordinary General Meeting held before the AGM. This meeting will ask members to vote on a new club Constitution as well as the election of four Trustees. Both of these developments are necessary to fully comply with the terms of the Charity Commission’s requirements for the independent relationship that has been set up between the club and the Glebe Recreational Trust.

The EGM will take place at 7.30, followed closely by the AGM. As it does each year, this meeting will review and discuss the progress of the Club over the past twelve months from playing, administrative, social and financial points of view. As well as looking back, members of the Committee will also outline plans and policies for the year ahead.
New playing and administrative positions will also be decided and I enclose details of all positions which will be voted for on the night. Apart from the position of President all of these posts can be nominated from within the club membership. If you would like to make a nomination please make sure it is returned to me directly, or to the club, in good time for inclusion.

If you would like to discuss any of these positions prior to making a nomination, please speak to a Committee member of club chairman Martin Phillips. Please remember that only Full playing members, Vice Presidents and Honorary Life Members are entitled to vote at the AGM.

Cold, dark January nights are not conducive to leaving a warm home, but please make the effort to attend the meeting and catch up with old friends and playing colleagues.

Yours faithfully,

Mark Harrison
Secretary
