Banbury Cricket Club has secured the signing of Autralian International and Hobart Hurricane Tim Paine for the 2015 season.
The 30 year old Keeper-batsman has played 31 times for Austalia in all formats scoring 7 fifties and a hundred against England in an ODI at Trent Bridge. This season he is Tasmania’s leading batsman in One Day Cricket and also played some exciting innings for the Hurricane’s in this years Big Bash League, including 55 from just 25 balls vs Brisbane Heat.
Tim will, subject to Visa and Registration clearance, represent Banbury in the Home Counties Premier League as well as coachign the Club’s women’s section as they continue their journey up the leagues in the Midlands division. He will also perform some coaching in local schools.
Tim\’s pedigree makes him arguably the club’s highest profile player to date, as he joins the likes of Neal Radford, Paul Taylor, Syd Lawrence (all England) and Craig Haupt (SA U19’s) on this list of players with international experence who have represented the club.
Club secretary Jimmy Phillips commented:

Banbury also confirmed the signing of Oxfordshire Pace-man Karl Penhale this month, in another move to strengthen the hand of in coming skipper Luke Ryan. Karl will add to the club both on and off the field, as he is known for his whole hearted performances with both ball and bat.
