Men’s Indoor Fall at the Semi-Final

The Men’s Indoor side took on the Oxford League champions Wolvercote in the Oxfordshire Finals Day at Bartholomew School.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, the side got off to a watchful start, as openers Richard Simpson & Ben Cross adapted to the different conditions. Richard was the first to fall for 22, with the score on 42. Ali Short then came in and gave the innings some much needed momentum, hitting the back wall with ease as he retired on 26. Ben Cross was the next to fall for 17, with Liam Manley, Jack Lambden & Andy Prior all falling in the final stages looking to accelerate the scoring. The side finished on a respectable 81-5 off their 10 overs; slightly below par.

In reply, Wolvercote lost two early wickets, first a run out, followed by a wicket for Liam Manley. However, they rebuilt to get to 44-2 at the halfway stage. The indoor side kept the pressure on with two late wickets, but Wolvercote had too much in the end and got home by 2 wickets.

A strong season nonetheless for the Men’s Indoor side, who will look to go one better in the 2023 season!
