Match report by Neil Megson
A smashing win for the Vets last night against Chippy.. Toss lost and asked to have a hit…
A brilliant start with 17 coming from the first over.. 50 from the first 4, superb, our record opening stand of 72,James Mitchelmore 17 and Andy Cross 29 retried.. Steve Beck and Ollie Murrey carried the assault to Chippy, Becky 28 retired and Ollie 18,we hit five 6s which is unusual for us but none the less welcome… It was then left to me and James Risbridger to take a run off each ball of the last two overs,we got 21 from the 9th and 18 from the last, Ris finished 18no and me 20…my heat map was insane….
In reply Chippy got off to a flying start as we bowled some uncharacteristic wides, coupled with some rank catching we weren’t quite at it… But 4 wickets in 4 balls won us the game, 2-19 from Crossy who bowled superbly a run out and wicket for Ollie seeing us to a comfortable victory,Chippy finished 107-5……
We then slipped into the Auctioneer for a cheeky meat fest, but dear dear me, £6 a pint is nothing short of a joke in Banbury on a Tuesday night, they really are having a laugh… Last time we go there… Onwards..
