This Sunday 19th July will see the inaugural winners of the HCPL in 2000 play a Jamie Brigg’s Invitational side in aid of Motor Neurone Disease. Jamie’s father-in-law, Roy, unfortunately died from this devasting disease in July 2014. Julie Briggs has organised what will be a fun day at the club with the BBQ burning, a ‘girlie’ tombola and raffle with a £200.00 cash price taking place in addition to watching what I am sure will be a very competitive and highly entertaining cricket match. Tim Paine, former Australian international will be playing, along with some other ‘stars’ from the Banbury side of 2000. There will be five sons of the original Banbury team that won in 2000 playing, which I’m sure will only add to the occasion with the dads surely not wanting their offfspring to win! All proceeds will go to the MND organisation to support ongoing research into this tragic illness for which there is no cure. Please come along with the family and friends and support what promises to be a fun and exciting day of cricket at the club.
