Banbury inflicted an early season defeat on Home Counties Premier League champions Henley with a seven-wicket victory at White Post Road on Saturday.
Having restricted the visitors to 209-8, Banbury took little more than 40 overs to knock off the required runs with Nathan Hawkes completing an unbeaten century along the way. That made it back-to-back wins for Banbury as they made the best possible start to their division one campaign.
Opener Michael Roberts 56, Tahir Afridi 40no and Euan Brock 32 led the way in Henley’s total while Jimmy Phillips picked up three wickets, and Dean Bartlett and Luke Ryan claimed a couple apiece.
