First XI scorer Nobby Clarke estimates he has spent 3000 hours compiling a complete statistical record of Banbury’s 13 years in the Home Counties Premier League. Only Banbury and High Wycombe have played all 13 seasons in the Regions top division.
The record contains the performances of every Banbury player in every Banbury game from the championship season of 2000 to 2012’s runners up campaign.
Nobby intends for a copy to be made available at the Pavilion, but here are a selection of statistics from the file:
Craig Haupt has the most appearances (206), runs (8436), 100s (21), 50s (51) and catches (126).
Jimmy Phillips has taken the most wickets, (269) from Luke Ryan (241). Neal Radford has the best Average of any bowler with over 20 wickets (12.76).
Neil Megson has the best Win ratio of any Banbury captain (53%), from Jimmy Phillips (50%) who has the lowest draw ratio (16%).
Banbury have been HCPL runners up, more than any other team and twice as many times as their nearest rivals.
