The thirds beat Bicester by 4 wickets with 15 overs to spare but it was not our most convincing display of the season to say the least.Bicester won the toss and chose to bat and after 14 overs were 79-1 as we bowled and fielded like men with no arms. The drinks break at 17 overs came at the right time and with several hair dryers plugged in at once the skipper made his thoughts known in no uncertain terms.Olllie Murrey plugged away manfully as wickets began to fall and along with Mike Thomas who finished off the tail bowled out the hosts for 157,in 40overs .The bull like Murrey finishing with 6-45 and Thomas 3-20.In reply we started well, Jamie Coles and Charlie Hill putting on 45 in 10 overs,Hill then chased a wide one , Justin Lambden was run out and with John Wright also gone Bicester were back in the game.Coles then out for 35 and Mike Thomas out first ball it was game on at 98-5.It was the bowling hero Murrey and once again Siam Hussain with a cool head who put on 35 for the 6th wicket as we closed in on victory.Ross Freeman with 12 n/o and Hussain who finished 32n/o saw us to what in the end was an easy victory with 15 overs to go but with several alarms along the way. This leaves us 23 points adrift of Cropredy and Bledlow Village, with those two sides to play as well as Shipton 2nd we have a mighty tough run in ,but three wins could well see us in division two next season in what has turned out to be a very successful year indeed.
