Former Banbury allrounder Ant Bullick has been forced to retire from cricket at the age of 26 following a string of back, hip and groin injuries.
Kiwi Bullick was the top bowler in the Home Counties Premier League in 2009 with 47 wickets as his heroic performances led Banbury to 2nd place in the table. He played only 13 games for Otago due to injury and the well stocked seam bowling ranks in the state, however the 30 wickets he claimed in a fledgeling career point to a promising future snatched away.
‘Bully’ was probably best remembered at BCC for his heroics at Championship winners Henley where he, all but single handedly, brought down their star studded line up with 5-68 and 59 off 47 balls. Either that, or when he drank his own body weight in Sauvignon Blanc at Barnt Green Cricket Club. A reminder of his Henley performance can be found here http://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/sport/cricket/othercricket/4537020.CRICKET__Banbury_win_off_last_ball/?ref=rss
He was a real hit both on and off the field and will always go down as the Chairman’s Wife’s favourate overseas pro.
I’m sure everyone at the club will join me in wishing Ant the best for the future.
