The thirds season ended with an agonising defeat off the last ball against Didcot on Saturday. That’s two thrillers against them this season and sadly we have come up short in both games.Batting first we got off to a brilliant start and after 22 overs we were 94 for no wicket. But with Mark Rorich 46 and Adam Wirth 41 both falling quickly as well as 4 more quick wickets we tumbled to 118 for 6.With youngster James Earnshaw and gnarled old pro Neil Megson repairing the innings we finished on a credible 199,.Megson finally out trying to mow one into the hospital for 29,Jordan Morrison and skipper Jules Hitchman both finished with 4 wickets each.In reply wickets fell at steady intervals as Banburys bowlers pressed for a win and to Didcots credit they were also going for it till the the end. Some great catches by Charlie Hill and Justin Lambden increased the pressure on Didcot. So we arrive at the last over 1 wicket left and 10 needed,James ‘Captain’ Morgan the nerveless bowler.the second ball was dispatched to the deep mid wicket boundary where sadly a chest high catch was grounded ,Didcot proceeded to scramble 2 from the final ball to win a thrilling game of cricket.
