Following on from recent tons from Charlie Hill and Adam Wiith ,two more of our talented young batsman got in on the act on saturday.Batting first we managed a good score of 217 in an innings reduced to 48 overs due to a heavy downpoor.Justin Lambden and Will Briggs produced another 100 plus partnership as they smashed runs all around the wicket.Mixing brilliant running between the wickets with terrific shot selection both reached fifties ,Briggs the first to go for 50, Lambden followed for a brilliant 89 with surley his best innings for the club.Spinner Alistair Thomas was the pick of the Thame bowlers with 7 for 63.In reply Thame’s verteran openers Steve Beard and Richard Carr got them off to a good start ,one huge six from Carr managed to lose the new ball after only 5 overs.Wickets started to fall but Carr played superbly to eventually be stumped off James Morgan for 103.With Paul Hill 4 for 65 toiling away from the town end , it was James Morgan who produced the best spell of the day for Banbury,taking all of the pace off the ball Morgan who finished with 3 wickets swayed the game back towards Banbury.Thame eventually finished on 183 for 8 in a really good game of cricket.
