Jarvis and Hill Lead Thirds home

The thirds beat the XX Club 2nds by a massive 143 runs at Ermont way on Saturday. After losing the toss we were asked to bat , Marc Rorich and Adam Wirth put on 55 for the first wicket, both were then out in quick succession ,Wirth for 39, following on from his brilliant hundred against Horspath the week before.Enter Ally Jarvis and Charlie Hill who produced what is surely a 3rd team record stand of 248 in just 30 overs as all of the XX Club bowlers vanished around the field. Both players ran superbly and punished everything and anything.Jarvis was finally out for 96 and Hill finished on 127n/o as the innings closed on 303 for 3 declared in 45 overs. In reply an early Wicket for Clarke Berry and steady wickets fell thereafter as all of the Banbury bowlers performed.Chris Phillips,Will Briggs  and 3 wickets for Connor Williams put Banbury in a commanding position. But a stubborn last wicket stand lasting 14 overs looked to have thwarted a well earned victory, but James Earnshaw in the 54th over got the breakthrough to give us a well deserved victory as XX were bowled out for 160.
