Last night we took 8 lads, four of whom were making their debuts to Shipton-Under-Wychwood and won a tight game by 6 runs played in the right spirit by both sides.
Batting first, we scored 276, but lost 6 wickets (losing 5 runs each time) off our 16 overs, finishing with a net score of 246 (start at 200) and helped by ample extras from the home teams bowlers.
Our bowling & fielding was the highlight of the game with everyone contributing. Notable performances came from Oliver Roberts (2 wickets with only one wide & no runs via the bat off his 3 overs), Chay Buckingham (1 for 5 runs off 3 overs) & the skipper, Jack Lambden, who kept wicket superbly not letting any byes through and was encouraging the team throughout. But for Aaron Moore’s catch off the 3rd ball of the final over it would have been too close for comfort.
