The u11 lost a dramatic semi final in the all Northamptonshire finals day at Rushden cc on sunday. The best two sides we in the second semi final, and so it proved as Old Northhamptonians beat us by 2 runs in a magnificent cricket match[in the final they easily beat Burton Latimer who in their semi had easily beaten Findon Dolben].Batting first ON’s scored 253 tight bowling from Will Stanley,Josh Megson, and Justin Lambden and some magnificent out cricket gave us a 50/50 chance at half way.Lambden and Mark Pallett got us off to a good start.Keeper Charlie Hill and Stanley kept it going, and Adnan Ahmed And a fine innings of 21 by Clarke Berry meant the last pair of Lloyd Sabin and Megson needed 23 for victory, with Sabin bowled early and Megson run we now needed 33 but a brilliant 28 from Sabin saw us fall just short in an outstanding cricket match Sabin hit 4,4,4,6 of the last foer balls of the match in his superb innings. It must be said what a credit to the club the team were on sunday and what talent we have at this age group.
